"The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker, Adult Non-Fiction 362.88 DeB

This book was first recommended to me by a self-defense intstructor. I was really impressed with it! It is all about survival signals that we all inherently posess, and the importance of listening to our instincts. The author is the director of a security firm, and details countless interviews with crime victims, as well as his examinations of their mental states. It is scary, but really gives a lot of valuable advice on how to stay alert and listen to your intuition.
